Mitchell's best friend Angela aged 15 years old at the time of her death in an accident with a vehicle was also a writer about the incident. It was a very difficult time for Mitchell and her song Angel in her first album penned specifically for Angela. Her book Chicken Soup of the Preteen Soul and her 7th Heaven episode, Nothing Endures But Change also mentions this incident.
